I’m taking a break from work (school has to come much later yet) and I noticed that I’ve been mostly posting running events which probably do not interest many of you, right?
My hands are sore from typing, as I am a freelance writer, so I will be posting pictures instead, during our hotel stay and other adventures in Manila, before we actually went to the Eraserheads concert. I hope I do not bore you at all. I think I am. Hahahahaha.
I forgot to include this in my previous post. This is me, in my y101 shirt, at the airplane comfort room. I just had to document every moment of the trip. hahahahhaa. :p
I’ve had this blog in mind before, which is why I made sure to take pictures of every corner of our hotel suite. Here, we get to stay at the luxurious Executive Suite at the Diamond Hotel in Manila. Website says it costs Php12k per night.
Entrance to our suite, guest comfort room at the left. In front is the receiving area.
Guests’ (if we have) comfort room
Guest loo (Yes, took a pic of this one, too). I seldom see comfort rooms with phones in them. *Yes hello? Can I order a pizza? Five minutes? Okay, thanks.* Could you just imagine ordering pizza that way?Hahaha
Shower area (I’m sorry if it’s THAT detailed. I was thinking then of putting up a “review” site so other people could check out the places I’ve been to and see if they would want to stay there in the future as well.)
That’s me in my then long and curly hair. Behind is the loo and shower area. In front is the sink, naturally.
Behold OUR receiving area. At the left is the “bedroom” and behind me is the entrance to the suite.
Located at the right of the previous picture. It provides a picturesque view of the infamous Manila Bay sunset as well as the i-look-clean-but-i’m-really-dirty Manila Bay waters.
The hallway on the left is the entrance of the suite. Behind me is the receiving area. This cabinet here is where the guest TV set is located.
Mini ref and vault beside the TV. We placed our concert and plane tickets in the vault for safekeeping and just so we could use it. hahahahha.
Guests get to bring with them FREE OF CHARGE four bottles of mineral water, 4 drinks in can (Coke, Sprite, pineapple juice and mango juice) and a pack of Oreo cookies. HOORAY for us!
On top of the cabinet. I’m not sure why I’m including this one, though.
This is inside the bedroom now. Located at the right side, if you enter from the receiving area. It has a good view of the adjacent buildings to the Diamond Hotel.
WARNING: Do not stare too closely. That’s my brother in his shirt and underwear. Hahahahaha.
TV set inside our bedroom. It’s near the curtained windows I showed two pictures above.
Our wardrobe. The left door goes to the receiving area. The right one goes to the main bathroom/comfort room area.
A closer look at our wardrobe. Really, we had around two bags with us – one is mine; the other is this one, which belongs to my brother.
Right beside the closet. We’d been thinking about bringing with us AT LEAST the iron when we go back home. Hahahahha.
Vanity stand at the bedside. At the left of the chair is where the main bathroom is located. **(sob) I miss my long hair**
Ooops. It’s not actually a vanity stand, just a multipurpose table. The laptop should go right here where their modem is located. I think they didn’t have a WIFI connection at the room but I THINK they did have one at the lobby.
I’d call it a fat and short bed. It’s quite wide but it’s length from headrest to the foot is a little too short, even for me. But I do fit in there, I just think the dimensions are not proportionate.
To the main bathroom/comfort room
My brother seen on the vanity stand inside the bathroom. Yes, this one’s much bigger (bigger than my room at home, in fact) than the one for the guests. And much colder, too.
Back at the vault — concert tickets, plane ticket and buffet passes.
Me and Executive Suite, Room 1830.
Hallway. To the elevators we go!
Inside the elevator. My brother’s tummy is bulging. hahaha.
View at left. When from the elevator.
View (except my brother) at right. When from the elevator.
Well. Okay. So the elevators were opposite each other. hmmm.
BUFFET:
Hotel in restaurant. View from stairs.
Restaurant. Hoory, buffet! Behind that rock/garden of eden/whatever , by the way, is the swimming pool area.
Shhh. Taking pictures of other diners. Oh yeah, see those heads poking out at the far corner? I think a wedding reception/debut was held in there as well.
Supposedly, I was modeling the garden behind me.
Closer look at the garden/pond/whatever right behind my seat.
Finally. My brother and I were confused about things here. We knew it was buffet style so we had to take our own food. However, the waiter who served us placed napkins on our lap already — we were wondering if they would be serving us food or not.
Smiling although it’s painful. That Coke in can costs too much, I think we had to pay around 100++ for just two cans! Rawr! If we had known, we could have just brought our free bottled waters with us.
*My brother is ALMOST SINGLE. He’s married but he’s not really. He’s single but he’s not really.* Anyway, here we had to eat Korean food, I think, which was the specialty for the day. I had a really bad experience with foreign cuisine which is why I do not embrace new food with open arms right away. Good thing there was a particular dish that tasted like Humba.
OUT WE GO:
View from Pedro Gil. Our room is located way up there, 18th floor.
Initially, I wanted my boif to go with me (I had the choice because I won) but, of course, my parents would not allow that. It was a good thing though, I had thought we would be treated VIP-ish with Y101 crews with us but as you can see, it was only my brother and I. Would you have imagined my boif and I together overnight? Yikes!
